Multi-Tiered Storage In A Single Platform

The Pillar Axiom™ storage system provides one platform that supports all application tiers. One platform supports premium, high, medium, low, and archive performance and availability characteristics with no hard boundaries, meaning that capacity is not allocated in fixed partitions. The Axiom also provides the ability to tailor each application to deliver balanced performance through user-selectable Dynamic Performance policies.

Scalable

The Axiom is highly scalable. Simply add Bricks to increase capacity and Slammers to increase I/O connectivity and throughput. The Axiom is also highly available, providing redundancy for all critical components: active/active I/O controllers, active/active RAID controllers, redundant internal fabric for internal connectivity between Slammers and Bricks, redundant system management, power and cooling, and Phone Home.

Flexible

Pillar systems enable users to choose whether to deploy a SAN-only system, NAS-only system, or a mixed SAN and NAS system, to scale with business needs. The systems provide intelligent provisioning and predictive modeling which reduce the complex challenges of deploying, provisioning, and managing storage assets. Customers can utilize many different applications at the same time, while delivering the appropriate performance to each from a single system. An enterprise can also scale as its business grows, from two terabytes to hundreds of terabytes.

Axiom Path Manager

All business-critical SANs require path failover and load balancing to protect availability of vital data. Most suppliers charge for this feature and in many cases, the charge is based on storage capacity or the number of hosts involved. Even if the charge is relatively low, there is always the ongoing maintenance cost to consider.

The Axiom Path Manager provides all required load balancing and path failover functionality and also automatically gathers all host configuration data for importation into AxiomONE Storage Services Manager.
