Mobile networks and record companies are working closely together to boost online commerce from music, it has been suggested.
According to website Mobile Entertainment, the two have a "mutually beneficial relationship" and can be seen all over one another.
However, Tim Green, executive editor of mobile industry content, warned that this alignment may not be enough to change user attitudes towards the market.
He said that record companies are engaging with the mobile music market by licensing tracks and through various cross promotions.
However, he added: "Whether you can change people's basic habits of, first of all, going to LimeWire and doing it all free, and second of all, downloading to your PC and then sideloading, that's a much bigger question."
His comments come in the wake of a report by Juniper Research, which suggested that mobile ecommerce could increase significantly in the next several years, with the number of mobile money users set to double between now and 2013.
