Microsoft COO says company is investing heavily in cloud hosting services
Microsoft's chief operating officer has revealed that the company is investing heavily in cloud hosting services as the technology landscape changes.
Kevin Turner told zdnetasia.com that the pace of innovation created cloud computing and natural user interfaces is "astounding".
Furthermore, he said that in the future Office 365 will be expanded to include customer relationship management product CRM Online as it looks to offer businesses more hosted products.
Mr Turner told the news provider that changes will need to be made as technology continues to evolve.
"We've moved into an era of always connected, internet-centric computing, and our vision has, in turn, evolved from being on every desktop to being on every platform," he said.
"With this change in vision, Microsoft decided to invest heavily in both cloud computing and mobile technology."
Four out of ten South African firms revealed in a recent Microsoft survey that they will pay for at least one cloud hosting service in the next three years.
