Miramax launches video streaming service
Businesses that allow employees to stay up to date with the latest current affairs via video streaming could be interested in a recent announcement from Miramax.
The film production company has unveiled its Facebook Movie App, which can be enjoyed by users in the UK, US and Turkey through the use of an iPad or Google TV.
Subscribers to the application will be given the chance to select from an extensive library of movie blockbusters that are rented through the social networking website.
UK users will initially be able to choose from ten titles and able to rent the films for 30 Facebook credits, which is the equivalent of $3 (£1.81).
"One of the things Miramax approached us about was the notion of being able to buy on Facebook and watch on other platforms," remarked Dan Rose, Facebook's vice president of partnerships and platform marketing.
"We can be the identity platform behind that type of experience," he added.
This news comes after Google and Movieclips joined forces to bring 20,000 film titles to YouTube subscribers, bringing the largest collection of movies anywhere on the internet to the video streaming website.
