Retail-integrated ecommerce solutions are helping to boost sales for companies that adopt them, according to new research.
Shopatron's latest Retailer Ecommerce Study revealed 46 per cent of shops prefer to purchase from brands that send them orders generated via the internet, while 36 per cent sell more items from a supplier in store when stocking levels are bumped up to meet their online requests.
Almost two-thirds of respondents claimed incremental sales from retail-integrated ecommerce channels had an impact on their profits.
Ed Stevens, founder and chief executive of Shopatron, said he started the business to help branded manufacturers serve their consumers online without disrupting relationships with distributors.
"These numbers show that we are accomplishing that goal and that our clients and partners are seeing the results in their bottom line," he added.
Last month, the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index showed online shopping rose by 19 per cent in the first half of 2011 compared to the corresponding period of 2010.
